I'd be interested in knowing what your top five all-time favorite movies might be...and why.
Here's my list. (For tonight, anyway. If I've done anything like this previously on the blog, this list supercedes earlier lists. Like all people with brains, I reserve the right to flip-flop. And no, that's not a political statement.)
1. It's a Wonderful Life
2. Field of Dreams
3. Casablanca
4. [tie] Dave
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
5. The Sword in the Stone
Tod Bolsinger here chiming in:
ReplyDelete1) The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
2) Casablanca
3) The Godfather 1 & 2
4) Princess Bride
5) Field of Dreams
I think.
Lisa S. from Texas:
ReplyDelete1. Raiders of the Lost Ark (Young H. Ford and great story!)
2. The Count of Monte Cristo (recent version - more swash buckling + see number 5)
3. The Rookie (De-toxed Dennis Quaid and great message)
4. Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen on screen)
5. Nearly anything with Sir Anthony Hopkins
Christmas isn't Christmas without Its a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story.
My all time favorite movies are:
ReplyDelete1) Chariots of Fire
2) Casablanca
3) A River Runs Through It
4) Hoosiers
5) Braveheart
6) The Man from Snowy River
7) Glory
8) Saving Rrivate Ryan
9) Godfather Part II
This is the problem: When people mention other movies, it makes me want to expand or modify my list!
ReplyDelete1. Casablanca
ReplyDelete2. It's a Wonderful Life
3. Hoosiers
4. The Patriot
5. Braveheart
Big gets an honorable mention.
As much as I want to agree with Pastor Bolsinger on the LOTR trilogy, which I own and watch, I have become increasingly dissatisfied with the liberties taken with the book.Of course they had to cut things out, that was required. However, it's the things they changed, particularly in the character of Elrond, that force me to leave it off.
