The Schaivo Case Example of Injustice to Disabled

Aaron of Two or Three [.net] today linked to a powerful article from today's Harvard Crimson newspaper. It was written by a Harvard student, Joe Ford. Ford, who has severe cerebral palsy, sees evidence of American prejudices against disabled persons in the case of Terri Schiavo. He makes a powerful and convincing case that Schaivo, who is not terminally ill, is being starved to death because those displaying cognitive disabilities are seen to be living lives not worth living.

This is Nazi master race stuff, folks, and it's frightening that it is happening in America!

Please read Ford's article.

I am not so sure the courts established what she would want since the ruling of the courts completly contradicts the faith Terri embraced.

Sure, there are those who embrace a faith like they pick a club and the relationship is casual but according to her family...mom, dad, borther, sister and friends...this was not the case with Terri.

Again, I agree. To honor Terri Sciavo's life and legacy, the Congress and the President should reinstate to the 2006 budget the Traumatic Brain Injury Program, which has helped thousands of Terri Schiavos in exactly the same situation, in 49 states since 1997, as well ands 13 other life-saving programs for the disabled, children, elderly and low-income families. (All 14 programs were eliminated by the Bush budget.)

People lives are more important, more sacred, than newer, moe powerful bombs.
