Google will now do the Chinese government's censoring for it. Is the world's largest media company so desperate for revenue that it's willing to co-conspire with a regime that represses its people, has the US economy by the throat, harbors hegemonic designs, and persecutes Christians? Apparently.
Just like Microsoft.

Unfettered capitalism is not necessarily either Christian or democratic. Pure capitalism is about the pursuit of profit purely for the sake of profit.
If the last five years has proven anything, it's that large US corporations have been actively encouraged by the US government in their pursuit of profits at all costs and under all conditions.
Witness WalMart. Google and Microsoft are merely following the herd and the federal tax incentives, especially in regard to dealing with China. Why would we expect different behavior under these political and market conditions?
Wish and pray for, yes. Expect, no.
