Has anybody yet seen the remake of All the King's Men? The 1949 film version of Robert Penn Warren's fictionalized telling of Huey Long's story is so great, Broderick Crawford's performance so perfectly outsized, that I can't imagine why we need a remake.The reviews I've read and heard have not been positive. Penn, a method actor whose performances are usually more understated, psychological studies, hardly seems like the ideal choice to play Willy Stark and so far, most of the reviewers seem to agree.
