To say yes to Christ, I must say no to cheap grace

This is an awesome article.

One of the hard lessons I've learned as a Christian is that if I'm serious about following Christ, I can't avoid getting my heart broken. To grasp the freely outstretched hand of Christ necessitates letting go of the desires I most deeply love, desires that would otherwise turn me from life with God.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, "When Christ calls a man, He bids him come and die." It is only in the painful dying to self that we receive Christ's free gifts of forgiveness and life.

But I would rather embrace the costly grace of Christ than the siren calls of my favorite sins.
