Thank You, Buckeyes!

My beloved Ohio State Buckeye men's basketball team lost to the Georgetown Hoyas in an NCAA Tournament game today.

For a team that wasn't expected to do much as the season began, OSU's second-seed in the tournament and its Big Ten regular season-championship are both exceptional achievements.

Thanks, Buckeyes, for a wonderful season!

(By common consensus, the incoming freshman basketballers at Ohio State are among the best batch of recruits in the entire country. So, I'm looking forward to the next few seasons!)

Here's a hint about March Madness: the ultimate victor will wear blue and gold.

I pushed Ohio St on my blog all year. No need to thank them for their pathetic performance. Only Sullinger should be expempt from criticism from Sunday. They all played like garbage. This was their year - they are losing too many players that cant be replaced by freshman.

I completely disagree. This is a team that played above their natural abilities all year long. As Matta pointed out after Sunday's game, teams with overwhelming size advantages had been tough for them all year long. When that advantage was brought together with Georgetown's athleticism and flawless execution of the Princeton style of play, one sees that the Buckeyes really had their work cut out for them.

As to next year, I don't want to put any undue pressure on the freshmen, but with the level of incoming talent, I suspect that we'll repeat the Big Ten title and make a run at the national championship.
