In today's daily emailed inspiration, my friend and colleague, Pastor Glen VanderKloot presents challenging words from Dag Hammarskjold, Lutheran, first Secretary General of the United Nations, and Nobel Peace Prize winner, which clearly reflect the teaching of Jesus in the New Testament:
+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + +
Thought for the Day

Goodness is something so simple:

always to live for others,

never seek one's own advantage.

Dag Hammarskjold

Luke 6:33,35 NIV

And if you do good to those who are good to you,
what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that.

But love your enemies, do good to them,
and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.
Then your reward will be great,
and you will be sons of the Most High,
because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

Lord, help me to put others first in my life.
