U2 is certainly awesome. I think they should put out a gospel album. I think it could be very subtle (which seems to be their style), but still very spiritual. Have you heard David Byrne and Brian Eno's 'Everything That Happens Happens Today' album? It's kind of a secular gospel album, and it's beautiful. I think U2 could easily achieve that kind of impact.

the best line from the Byrne/Eno collaboration is from the song 'Life Is Long':

'Life is long if you give it away'. Amen.

That's a nice line.

Paul McCartney was recently asked with whom, other than Bob Dylan, with whom he was scheduled to collaborate this summer, he would like to compose. He said David Byrne.

'No Line on the Horizon' is, in many ways, a Gospel album. It's certainly U2's most overtly Christian effort.

If they ever do produce such an effort, I wouldn't expect any announcements and some people won't even get that it is a Gospel LP, in much the same way as many fans of 'The Chronicles of Narnia' or 'The Lord of the Rings' deny that those are Christian works.

I hope that you and the family have had a good Labor Day.
