Don't we market Christ the same way???? Fire, hell and damnation in the 19th century. Warm, fuzzy, up beat music, political correctness, everyone gets to heaven in the 21st century???
Alex: I certainly hope not. Changes in worship music to me, are akin to translating Scripture or worship orders (liturgies) into the languages of people, enabling them to know and communicate with God.
There have always been legalists who wanted to bludgeon people to heaven and there have always been universalists who wanted to employ anything goes-ism to make Christ palatable to everyone. But in whatever era such distortionists have lived, it wasn't the Gospel being marketed.
